Miles Bridges’s Emergence Playing Key Role
Former 12th overall pick Miles Bridges came on late in the year last season for the Charlotte Hornets, emerging as one of their key contributors on both ends of the court, and so far this season, he has put his name at the top of the list for this year’s Most Improved Player Award.
Through four games, Bridges has been fantastic on the offensive end of the floor, averaging a team-high 25.0 points per game and shooting not just 52.9% from the floor, but 35.7% from three-point range.
On defense, the young, dynamic wing is averaging 8.5 rebounds per game, second-best on the team, and is averaging 2.3 steals per game, ranking him tied for 12th in the league in steals per game.
After posting 30 points and 7 rebounds in a win at Cleveland during the first week of the season, Bridges followed up this dazzling performance with another 30-point game, dropping 32 point and 9 rebounds on Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets.

“I kind of felt like this last year at the end of the season,” Bridges said after the Hornets win in Brooklyn on Sunday. “But like I said, my teammates are doing a great job of finding me and Coach (Borrego) is doing a good job of drawing stuff up for me. I just want to continue to keep playing hard.”
