Does this trade make sense for the Cleveland Cavaliers?
Believe it or not, the Cleveland Cavaliers have a chance to earn a spot in the playoffs this year via the play-in tournament, but they are going to need a little bit more talent on their roster to do so.
Their starting unit of Garland, Sexton, Markkanen, Mobley and Allen is a very young, dynamic and strong rotation in this league, but their bench is a little weak outside of Isaac Okoro and Ricky Rubio.
It is early on in the season, but as of right now, the Cavaliers rank inside the Bottom-10 in the league in bench points per game, which is why adding a guy like Terrence Ross could be so valuable for them. He is another scorer that they can depend on in whatever capacity they need him for and Ross knows what it takes to win games.
The now 10-year veteran has been to the playoffs multiple times in his career and the most important thing he brings with him to Cleveland is the fact that he is an experienced player. Both he and Ricky Rubio could do so much on and off-the-court for this young group the Cavaliers have assembled, which is why this trade is worthwhile.
LATEST NBA NEWS & RUMORS: NBA Exec Claims Terrence Ross Will Get Traded This Season
Cedi Osman is not the kind of player to be the “x-factor” in terms of the Cavaliers making or missing the playoffs, but Terrence Ross certainly brings this kind of value to this team.
His scoring output off-the-bench can be the difference in the Cavaliers winning or losing multiple games this season, which is why this is a trade they should strongly consider, even if they do have to sacrifice a future first-round pick to make this trade happen.
