Worst Trade Destination No. 1: Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics have been looking to upgrade their frontcourt in recent years. They have been connected to some trade rumors, but haven’t pulled the trigger on any deals. There could be some interest in Marvin Bagley III, but this wouldn’t be an ideal landing spot for him.

Bagley would have a lot of competition for minutes in Boston. First-year head coach Ime Udoka is still figuring out the pieces in his rotation, so adding another player to the mix may cause more of a headache than a solution.

Robert Williams looks entrenched as the starting center, but veteran Al Horford is also in the mix. Grant Williams has a large role off the bench as well. Enes Kanter and Juancho Hernangomez are also on the roster but cannot break into the rotation.

Is Bagley a big enough upgrade that he would not only Kanter and Hernangomez in the pecking order, but receive minutes at the expense of one of those players? Udoka can also slide Jayson Tatum or Jaylen Brown up into the forward spots in a pinch.

With so much competition for minutes, Beantown would not be the best landing spot for Bagley, who needs minutes to rehab his value heading toward free agency.
