1. Memphis Grizzlies have a chance in a series once again
The Memphis Grizzlies took the next step in the Western Conference and qualified for the postseason last year. They were the eighth seed and despite losing in five games, this was a big accomplishment for a rebuilding team. Now, the Grizzlies are looking to remain in the hunt as postseason contenders this season.
The play-in games make it a bit more interesting for teams to qualify for series play. This allows the ninth and 10th seeds in each conference to have a chance. At the same time, it could be a disservice to the seventh and eighth seeds after 72 games.
Either way, the Grizzlies were able to qualify last year and might be even better this time around. This is not to say that the Grizzlies are going to be a championship team but they should most certainly be back in the conversation as postseason contenders.
With Morant leading the way, Memphis is in a good position to compete night in and night out.
