The Oklahoma City Thunder are continuing their rebuilding process through the 2021-22 NBA season and as a result, they are going to be looking to get their young talents as much playing time and experience as possible.
Last season, we saw them bench veteran Al Horford in favor of young players on their roster and they will most likely do the same again this season.
This could result in newly acquired Derrick Favors holding a minimal role with this team and ultimately, the Thunder could look to trade him near or before the trade deadline this season.
Favors was traded to the Thunder in a “salary dump” move by the Jazz this offseason, but the 30-year-old big man is not someone Oklahoma City is going to look to build with for the future success of this organization.

Now on his third different team in as many years, Favors is definitely an experienced player who can contribute to a playoff-contending team, which is why the Oklahoma City Thunder would be smart to leverage him now while he still holds some value.
Being owed $9.7M this season and then having a $10.2M player option for the 2022-23 season makes the veteran center very tradeable and someone plenty of playoff threats could pursue in a trade.
So which teams make the most sense for Oklahoma City Thunder center Derrick Favors as he looks to continue his career?
