1. San Antonio Spurs
The San Antonio Spurs have to decide which direction they want to take the team in. They are coming to the end of the Gregg Popovich era, which could mean a teardown and rebuild is on the horizon. But, as long as he is on the sidelines, the team is going to put as competitive of a roster on the floor as possible.
So, why not get the best of both worlds? Acquiring Dandre Ayton would not only help the team immediately but provide them with another cornerstone to build around for the future.
San Antonio is one of the few teams projected to have max salary cap space this offseason, so they could pursue Ayton to man the middle. He would provide the Spurs with a strong one-two punch in the middle to go along with the currently projected starting center, Jakob Poeltl.
Ayton would fit in with the new-look San Antonio Spurs, who are lacking a go-to offensive player after DeMar DeRozan departed via sign-and-trade in free agency. At 23-years old, he would be on the timeline with his teammates, as Thaddeus Young is the only player in his 30s on the team.
