Would this trade make senes for the Toronto Raptors?

The Toronto Raptors just lost one of the best players in franchise history with Kyle Lowry opting to head to the Miami Heat using a sign-and-trade in free agency.

Ben Simmons is not the type of player that Lowry is but he could still come to Toronto and contribute right away. He would not have to take over the ball-handling duties which is an immediate benefit.

VanVleet signed his extension last season and with Lowry gone, will have to take over more responsibility of running the half-court offense. However, he can remain slotted at the shooting guard position with Pascal Siakam still holding down the four.

The spacing could be clunky with Simmons in the fold alongside Siakam. However, the Raptors could look to further reconfigure its roster with separate moves with Simmons as the franchise player going forward as he just started a four-year deal.
