Detroit Pistons Receive: G Alec Burks, F Obi Toppin, F Kevin Knox II, 2022 First Round Pick (via CHA), 2023 First Round Pick (via DAL)

The New York Knicks didn’t make the big splash many expected them to make this offseason. While Jerami Grant isn’t a superstar, this would be a pretty big trade for New York to make following their performance in the 2020-21 season.

Grant would be joining the orange and blue, sliding into the starting small forward spot that was likely being occupied by Evan Fournier. His two-way skill set is something that would fit what the Knicks are doing and he is a much better defender.

Heading back to Detroit is Alec Burks, who will bring scoring punch and 3-point shooting to a team that is lacking it. The headliner for the Pistons is Obi Toppin, who could easily be looked at as the centerpiece of this deal. Meanwhile, Kevin Knox II would be a filler.

Toppin was the No. 8 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and began showing signs of breaking out during the postseason. He was also dominant during the 2021 Las Vegas Summer League.

The draft picks are a good addition for Detroit as well. It gives the Pistons more ammunition to move up the draft board or acquire an established talent to help the younger players around.
