All of the decisions that the New Orleans Pelicans make should have NBA superstar Zion Williamson in mind.
David Griffin and the front office need to do everything in their power to ensure that Williamson is happy and doesn’t want to leave the team.
There were rumblings earlier this offseason that Williamson’s family wanted him out of town as soon as possible. If that was a ploy to get the Pelicans to upgrade the roster, it didn’t work yet this offseason.
New Orleans missed out on Kyle Lowry, who landed with the Miami Heat via sign-and-trade from the Toronto Raptors. They also elected to not match the offer sheet that Lonzo Ball received from the Chicago Bulls, agreeing to a sign-and-trade involving him as well.

Devonte’ Graham was acquired in another sign-and-trade from the Charlotte Hornets to help replace what they lost in the backcourt. He is an excellent 3-point shooter, but may not move the needle too much when it comes to appeasing Williamson.
