This Hornets-Pacers Trade Sends Myles Turner To Charlotte

They made the play-in tournament last season after going 33-39 in the NBA regular season, but the Charlotte Hornets missed the playoffs for the fifth consecutive season. Their record was not impressive whatsoever, but in terms of player development and potential, the Hornets are definitely trending in the right direction as a franchise.

LaMelo Ball, the reigning Rookie of the Year, highlights a group of young talents on this roster and while they could be in store for another developmental year, Charlotte has to be happy with where they have gone over the years given the turnaround their roster has had.

Integrating new, young talents into the rotation will be key for head coach James Borrego heading into his fourth season with the organization, but at the same time, they will also need to prove that they are a playoff contender in the Eastern Conference.

There is no reason why this group cannot be competitive every single night and as a result, management could be willing to trade for a guy that they have had an interest in for years.

LATEST NBA NEWS & RUMORS: 3 Myles Turner Trades For Indiana Pacers To Consider

Myles Turner’s name has come up all the time in trade rumors and one team that always seems to have interest/is connected to him is the Charlotte Hornets. Having no real threat at the center position for years, the Hornets always seem to be interested in Turner and they may finally have their chance to acquire him this year.

Indiana is on the verge of “cleaning house” and they could be more than willing to discuss trade packages for their defensive superstar midseason, especially if they are struggling in the Eastern Conference standings. Could we actually see Charlotte trade for Myles Turner and create a very athletic, defensive-minded team?

Let’s take a look at a hypothetical trade scenario presented by Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley that would involve the Hornets trading one of their top players for the Indiana Pacers’ big man.
