They made the play-in tournament last season after going 33-39 in the NBA regular season, but the Charlotte Hornets missed the playoffs for the fifth consecutive season. Their record was not impressive whatsoever, but in terms of player development and potential, the Hornets are definitely trending in the right direction as a franchise.
LaMelo Ball, the reigning Rookie of the Year, highlights a group of young talents on this roster and while they could be in store for another developmental year, Charlotte has to be happy with where they have gone over the years given the turnaround their roster has had.

There is no reason why this group cannot be competitive every single night and as a result, management could be willing to trade for a guy that they have had an interest in for years.
