Impressive production has continued in preseason

Nah’Shon “Bones” Hyland has been so good for Denver all preseason long that head coach Michael Malone has already said that the rookie will be a part of the Nuggets’ second unit to begin the season.

“I think it’s undeniable. I think Bones Hyland has been outstanding in the preseason,” Malone told reporters earlier this week. “He’s so eager to learn, wants to get better, and you just love being around him because that energy he brings every day, one, it’s genuine, and two, it’s contagious.”

The 21-year-old rookie guard looks so comfortable at the NBA level right now and while these are only preseason games, early success for a young player in the league carries over to the regular season.

Confidence is built in the preseason and with the way “Bones” is playing right now, he is drawing the attention of some of the high-level veterans on this Nuggets’ team, with Aaron Gordon stating that Hyland does not even “look like a rookie” out there on the court.

Of course, losing Jamal Murray for a vast majority of the season is going to affect the Nuggets and they will struggle without him, but having Hyland emerge as a key asset this early is a really good sign for this team.

A couple of players do not win a championship and if Denver truly is going to make a case for being a top team in the league this season and possibly getting to the Western Conference Finals, they are going to need depth.

It usually takes time for rookies selected near the end of the first round to get acclimated to playing in the NBA, but Nah’Shon “Bones” Hyland is ready to make his presence felt right away in this league.

Guys like Cade Cunningham, Jalen Green, and Evan Mobley will be the most talked-about rookies, but do not be surprised to see Nah’Shon Hyland work his way into the All-Rookie discussion when all is said and done this season.
