Does this trade make sense for the Chicago Bulls?
When you take everything into consideration and the fact that the Chicago Bulls have invested a lot of money into their current roster to be competitive in the Eastern Conference, this trade actually does make a ton of sense for them. OG Anunoby is young, he is a rising player in this league and can impact the game in many different ways.
Zach LaVine, Nikola Vucevic, and DeMar DeRozan will handle most of the scoring load for this team, but they have a lot of questions defensively. Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso are two above-average defenders in the backcourt, but the rest of this team is very iffy.
Chicago did rank 11th in the league in net defensive rating last season and they only allowed 111.6 points per game to their opponents, which ranked them 14th in the league, but overall, this team does not look like they have improved defensively in the offseason.
Adding OG Anunoby at the expense of White and Williams not only gives the Bulls a terrific defender on the wing but someone who can make them even better than they will be offensively. Rolling out a starting lineup of Ball, LaVine, Anunoby, DeRozan, and Vucevic immediately throws the Bulls into contending status in the Eastern Conference, even if their bench will take a slight hit.

With not much assets for the future, including draft picks, it could be easy to say that the Chicago Bulls should not make this trade, but Anunoby is the complete package for this franchise. He can score, defend and is still very young, which is why Chicago would be smart to pursue this trade with the Toronto Raptors.
