Influx of intriguing young players

When you look at the way this Golden State Warriors roster has been constructed, you have to give GM Bob Myers and this front-office a lot of credit, but at the same time, it is hard to pinpoint the actual goal of this season is. Obviously, they want to contend for another title, but is this possible with all of the young talents on the roster?

James Wiseman, Jonathan Kuminga, and Moses Moody are three first-round picks of Golden State the last two years and all three guys are very young and raw players in terms of what they can bring to the table. Both Jordan Poole and Juan Toscano-Anderson are also inexperienced players looking to increase their roles and skills this season, so there could definitely be some roadblocks for Golden State this year.

Finding that balance between player development and title contention is going to be a huge challenge for this team and there are definitely questions that will need to be answered.

Obviously getting guys like James Wiseman, Moses Moody, and Jonathan Kuminga time on the court will be key for their development, but every game is going to matter for the Warriors if they are to work their way back to being one of the better teams in the Western Conference.

LATEST NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Warriors’ Jordan Poole Showing Early Signs Of Incoming Breakout Season?

Teams like the Lakers, Clippers, Jazz, Suns, Mavericks, and Nuggets are not going anywhere in terms of being solidified playoff/title contenders, so there is very little room for error on the Warriors’ end of things.

Stephen Curry is going to have to continue to be great, Draymond Green will have to continue playing his role as a leader for this team and then other secondary talents like Andre Iguodala, Otto Porter Jr., Nemanja Bjelica, Damion Lee, and others will have to continue to find ways to be successful on the court.

Coming off a year in which he made a case to win his third MVP award and ended up with the league’s scoring title instead, Stephen Curry truly believes this year’s team can get back to their old ways of winning a championship and he has recognized the Warriors’ group of young talents.

“I know how we operate and we have a crop of amazingly talented, high-potential energetic young guys who have a lot to accomplish in this league and we hopefully can marry the two in terms of what we do on the floor every single night,” Curry stated.

Obviously having Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green all healthy and playing at a high level goes a long way in the Warriors getting back to being a title-contending team, but Andrew Wiggins could very well be the key to success for this team.
