Buddy Hield – Sacramento Kings
After there was a deal in place for the Kings to send Buddy Hield to the Lakers this offseason on draft night, Los Angeles quickly switched gears and they elected to trade for Russell Westbrook from the Wizards instead.
Now, Hield knows that his team tried to trade him and is kind of in an awkward situation to begin the new year.
Since joining Sacramento during the 2016-17 season, Buddy Hield has been one of the best three-point shooters in the league, making 40.9% of his 2606 three-point attempts since then and averaging 17.3 points per game.
The Sacramento Kings have missed the playoffs for the last 15 seasons and it seems like this year will be the record-breaking 16th straight season the Kings will miss the playoffs. Sacramento just has no stability in their front office and as a result, there has been no stability on this roster.

Buddy Hield is owed $61.5M over the next three seasons and given that they have no cap space, moving his contract would definitely be favorable for the Kings, especially if they can get back a young talent or two and a draft pick.
However, the Kings are one of the teams that have shown a lot of interest in trading for Ben Simmons with Hield being one of the main assets they could potentially give up.
If the 76ers lower their asking price and view him as an asset, then there is a trade to be had here between the Kings and Sixers, but the Kings cannot look to trade Buddy Hield anywhere else until they know if they have a shot at acquiring Philly’s All-Star.
