3 Players Who Could Be Traded After Ben Simmons Situation Is Settled

NBA Analysis Network

The 2021-22 NBA season is set to begin on October 19 as the Nets, Bucks, Warriors, and Lakers are all in action with the rest of the league set to play the following few days, but the Philadelphia 76ers look like they are going to be without one of their key players.

Ben Simmons has yet to report to the team this offseason and is holding out due to the fact that he wants to be traded. However, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Simmons’ representation has been in talks with the 76ers and the situation has ‘progressed in recent days’ as both sides work toward a resolution in the ‘near future.’

In the playoffs last year, Simmons really struggled to get anything going offensively and struggled a lot in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Atlanta Hawks, a game in which the Sixers lost. You cannot blame Ben Simmons solely for this loss, but he definitely played a big role in the 76ers’ demise last season.

After trying to trade him all offseason long, the 76ers have been unable to find the right trade package for the 3x All-Star, especially since their asking price is so high.

The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported the other day that Philadelphia wanted three first-round picks and three first-round pick swaps included in a trade package for Ben Simmons, a deal that no team in the league would be willing to make right now.

Daryl Morey and the 76ers’ front office have a very high asking price for Simmons right now and while it seems like something will be worked out within the next month, we have been saying this for months now!

There are other trades that could happen around the league during the first several weeks of the 2021-22 season, but there are some moves that will not be made until a decision is made with Ben Simmons.

The following three players are on teams that have inquired about and are interested in Ben Simmons, so as a result, they likely will not be moved in a trade until Simmons is traded from Philadelphia. Let’s take a look at these three players and what the future may hold for them.
