2. Land another regular season honor
The turnaround for the New York Knicks was a bit unexpected but it is all about remaining in the regular season hunt now that they have arrived. One way to do this is to have players and coaches performing at a high level. New York landed some postseason awards last season and could land more this year.
Thibodeau made an immediate impact on the Knicks. He helped defensively and knew how to get the most out of his lineup. Thibodeau was named the NBA’s Coach of the Year for the work he did in the Big Apple. Julius Randle was named the NBA’s Most Improved Player after completely turning it around offensively.
The Knicks might not get two this year but they have a chance to get another one. If healthy, Mitchell Robinson will contend for an All-Defensive Team spot while Derrick Rose could be a dark-horse candidate for Sixth Man of the Year.
