3 Bold Predictions For New York Knicks Entering NBA Season

It was a surprise in season for the New York Knicks last year. They finished with 41 wins and were the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference. Despite a lackluster showing in the NBA playoffs, there is plenty to be excited about in New York.

This is the first time that could be said in nearly a decade. The Knicks have gone from the laughingstock of the league to a postseason contender with one swift move — hiring Tom Thibodeau.

He turned the Knicks into a defensive powerhouse and this led to them winning some games when the offense was not quite there. Julius Randle turned in an all-star season but it is unfair to expect that kind of production once again. The front office went out to sign other pieces to bring some help.

Evan Fournier and Kemba Walker signed in free agency this offseason. Randle got his contract extension and RJ Barrett is entering the third year of his career. There is finally a core to build around in New York. The front office also added depth by re-signing the likes of Derrick Rose and Nerlens Noel.

It is unknown if the Knicks can keep up this kind of success but on paper, they should be a postseason team once again in a top-heavy Eastern Conference.

The New York Knicks are not quite a championship contender but that can happen if they make a move for a superstar at some point over the years. That move is not going to happen soon so these three predictions will have to be based on the roster the Knicks have in place at the moment.
