This trade would feature two teams on both sides of the NBA. The Los Angeles Lakers are the ultimate title contender while the Oklahoma City Thunder have loaded up on assets to rebuild. This could benefit both sides depending on the pieces given up.

The Lakers have been linked to many deals despite having a strong offseason. They made the blockbuster of the summer when they acquired Russell Westbrook from the Washington Wizards. This gives Los Angeles a big three, along with LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

The Lakers were hit hard by injuries last season and they are hoping that they have better fortunes this season. This is a team that can win a title and will be favored if all goes right.

As for the Thunder, they are looking to put the right pieces around Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. He signed a lucrative contract extension to remain in Oklahoma City and give the franchise a direction moving forward.
