The Atlanta Hawks have made some big moves this NBA offseason. They haven’t drastically changed the construction of their team that made a surprise run to the Eastern Conference Finals last season, but they have begun shaping their future.

Atlanta arrived on the scene a little sooner than anticipated. Nate McMillan led an incredible turnaround, as the team went 27-11 with him after he took over as interim head coach from Lloyd Pierce. The Hawks had gone only 14-20 to start the season with Pierce.

After defeating the New York Knicks in round one and the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round, the Hawks came into the offseason looking to cement themselves as one of the top teams in the conference.

They added Jalen Johnson and Sharife Cooper in the 2021 NBA Draft. Delon Wright was acquired in a three-team trade with the Boston Celtics and Sacramento Kings. John Collins, Solomon Hill, and Lou Williams were all re-signed.
