The Miami Heat made one of the biggest moves in the NBA offseason when they acquired point guard Kyle Lowry from the Toronto Raptors. He landed in South Beach via sign-and-trade, as the Heat sent Goran Dragic, Precious Achiuwa, and a future second-round pick to the Raptors for him.
It was quite a good deal for the Heat, who were one of the teams interested in trading for Lowry at the trade deadline. But, at the deadline, the asking price was much higher. Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro were two of the names being discussed.
As they say, patience is a virtue and it paid off for Miami. They eventually landed Lowry, signing him to a three-year, $90 million deal, without having to part ways with either Robinson or Herro.
Lowry’s addition will help the Miami Heat climb the ranks in the Eastern Conference once again. They are only one season removed from playing in the NBA Finals and added some solid firepower this offseason.
