In recent days, there have been reports that the Philadelphia 76ers and Indiana Pacers have had some discussions centered around NBA All-Star Ben Simmons. There have been two players mentioned in those trade rumors from the Pacers’ side of things. Caris LeVert was the first player mentioned, and then Malcolm Brogdon was part of some rumors as well.
It is worth noting that when the offseason began, it was the Pacers that made the first trade offer to the 76ers for Simmons. They offered Brogdon and the No. 13 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft for him, but Philadelphia declined.
The fact they are doubling back and seemingly engaging with the Indiana Pacers on trade talks again is a sign that this saga could be coming to an end. Daryl Morey was going to have to lower his asking price to get a deal done, and if there are leaks about players possibly being swapped, it could mean that talks are heating up.
For the Philadelphia 76ers, this would be an excellent outcome. To come away with either Caris LeVert, Malcolm Brogdon, or possibly both would be a huge win for the team. While they have not made All-Star games in their careers, they are both solid players.

Out of the two, LeVert may have the higher ceiling but is a major question mark when it comes to staying healthy. He has battled numerous injuries throughout his career and missed part of last season after having cancer surgery on his left kidney.
When healthy, Caris LeVert is an excellent player. But, Malcolm Brogdon is a perfect fit for what the Philadelphia 76ers would be looking for in return for Ben Simmons.
