This NBA offseason, the Toronto Raptors franchise changed and we are not sure yet if it was for the better or for the worse. Long-time leader Kyle Lowry left for Miami in a sign-and-trade deal that resulted in the Raptors receiving Precious Achiuwa and veteran Goran Dragic.

In the final year of his contract, Goran Dragic is set to make $19.4M, and the Raptors are not tied down to him long-term, which is good news for them, but not much has been revealed on whether or not they intend to keep him all season long.

Dragic has spent the last 6.5 years of his career with the Heat and has been a really steady presence for them, averaging 16.2 points, 5.2 assists, and shooting 36.5% from deep in a Miami uniform.

Next to Fred VanVleet in Toronto’s backcourt, Dragic definitely has the capability to help this Raptors team make it back to the playoffs, but he is definitely a player some other teams around the league could be interested in pursuing. Moving a $19M contract is not simple, but there are some options that Toronto could consider in potential trades.

The direction the Raptors are heading as a franchise right now is very unknown and while they definitely have some pieces in place to contend for a playoff spot, they could very much miss the postseason yet again.

Trading Goran Dragic is not a terrible idea for the Raptors to consider, so let’s take a look at three trade scenarios that they could consider.
