The Minnesota Timberwolves were relatively quiet this NBA offseason. They weren’t very active in free agency but pulled off a few trades to shake up some of their depth chart.
The first move they completed was with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Minnesota acquired forward Taurean Prince in exchange for point guard Ricky Rubio. They didn’t waste much time before filling the void left at the point guard spot, as they later acquired Patrick Beverley.
Beverley was acquired from the Memphis Grizzlies, who acquired him in a deal earlier in the offseason from the Los Angeles Clippers. Beverley was acquired by Minnesota in exchange for Jarrett Culver and Juancho Hernangomez.
Even with that shuffling that was done, the Timberwolves still could use some reinforcements at the power forward spot. They were linked to John Collins before he re-upped with the Atlanta Hawks on a five-year, $125 million deal. But, the Hawks have another power forward that could help the Timberwolves.
