How This Trade Impacts Detroit Pistons
To start, it is hard to imagine the Detroit Pistons trading away Jerami Grant. The organization loves him, he has a good relationship with general manager Troy Weaver, and he wants to be with the team. Players like that, especially ones that produce, rarely get traded away, and they look at Grant as a part of their core going forward.
With that being said, should something drastic change and Grant is made available, this is a pretty good package to receive back. Parting ways with Kelly Olynyk, whose contract the Pistons will regret almost immediately, would be a win in itself.
At 26-years old, Andrew Wiggins is young enough to potentially be a part of the Pistons’ core going forward should he mesh well with the younger guys on the team. He had the best season of his career during the 2020-21 campaign and could build on that as a go-to player for Detroit.
Moses Moody would bring some much-needed shooting to the team. He profiles as an excellent fit alongside Cade Cunningham as a 6’6” shoot guard on the wing. Moody would get a different look to the backcourt as a running mate for Cunningham than Killian Hayes, the team’s first-round pick in 2020.

The 2022 first-round pick would give Detroit another shot at adding a young player to the team. They do not currently have a first-round choice next year, so it would help restock the draft capital.
The 2025 pick swap is an interesting addition. For Detroit, it would be a worthwhile gamble to make. The Warriors’ core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green would all be at least 34-years old heading into the 2024-25 season.

Anyone can guess if they would still be contending for championships, let alone even a playoff spot. When Detroit could be ascending the Eastern Conference standings, having a pick swap at that time could give them an asset to add one more dynamic young player to the draft or an extremely valuable asset to flip for that one last veteran to push the team over the top.
