This Sixers-Wizards Trade Is Centered Around Ben Simmons

Ben Simmons, Philadelphia 76ers, Washington Wizards, NBA Trade Rumors

The Philadelphia 76ers are going to look a lot different during the 2021-22 NBA season than they did after the 2020-21 season. The second-round elimination at the hands of the Atlanta Hawks could very well be the end of ‘The Process’ in Philadelphia.

Ben Simmons’s struggles offensive were once again front and center. His reluctance and sometimes flat-out refusal to shoot the ball was just too much for Philadelphia to overcome. Now, the relationship between Simmons and some within the organization seems irreparable.

Well, that is certainly one way to end a working relationship. If that didn’t make things clear enough, Joel Embiid has been trying to reach him but Simmons is not returning his calls either.

As it is noted, Simmons has his eyes on the Golden State Warriors, but the 76ers are unlikely to give him something that he wants with how he has handled things since the end of the season. But, despite his shortcomings, there will undoubtedly be teams interested in acquiring him.

Spencer Dinwiddie was signed in free agency, but the team would be hard-pressed to pass up on a player of Simmons’ caliber.
