Would this trade make sense for the Dallas Mavericks?

The Dallas Mavericks have accomplished their goal of becoming a postseason team in the Western Conference but now have to work on taking the next step.

The Mavericks have been unable to advance over the last two years, and it is because they have run into the LA Clippers both times. Stagnating will not be acceptable moving forward as Luka Doncic is now locked in place with his contract.

Doncic is a perennial MVP candidate year in and year out. He is one of the best passers in the league, and it benefits the team to have shooters out on the perimeter, which is why Tim Hardaway Jr. found success in Dallas and signed a new four-year deal this offseason.

Buddy Hield could be placed on the other side of the court, and the Mavericks can have shooters all over the floor within the offense.

Dallas is already a team to put up many points, and Hield would help them even further. This deal seems like a no-brainer for the Mavericks when looking at the pieces they already have in place and the fit he would bring.
