The Portland Trail Blazers have been featured in many NBA trade rumors for their backcourt. Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum could be big names moved at some point over the next year but this is not one of those blockbusters. Instead, the San Antonio Spurs could be looking for a veteran option down low.

The Trail Blazers have not made moves to this point. Lillard has not requested a trade and it is unknown if he will in the future. If Lillard was sticking around, it seemed as though McCollum would be the next man up in a big splash deal.

The Trail Blazers can afford to shake things up a bit. This is a team that has been unable to advance in the postseason in four of the last five years.

The Spurs are in a similar boat as they look to rebuild the success of the year’s past. San Antonio was able to get to the play-in portion of the postseason but no further this year.

They remain a postseason contender in the Western Conference because of the young pieces they have at the guard position and Gregg Popovich on the sideline. The Spurs continue to be paper-thin down low and this is where they can look to make a move prior to the season.

This is not a huge deal that will turn hands but it could benefit both sides in different ways. Let’s take a look at how this trade between the Portland Trail Blazers and San Antonio Spurs might happen this offseason
