Would this trade make sense for the Charlotte Hornets?
Charlotte has put the effort into improving the backcourt over the years. This landed them Ball with the third-overall pick in last year’s draft. This deal will all depend on if Charlotte believes that the duo Ball and Towns can take them to where they want to be.
At this point, the Hornets should be interested in any option in Towns in the lead one. He has the ability to dominate on both ends of the floor. He’s one of the more underrated playmakers in the NBA as well.
Towns is the prototypical stretch big man because he can score in the post and step out and shoot from three-point range. Alongside LaMelo Ball on a Hornets team primed to take the next step, there’s a lot to like about the possibility.
The return would be large but necessary considering the Hornets need to continue to add more players who are elite at their position. For a team that lacks talent at the five spot, Towns would be quite helpful.
