The average age of the Grizzlies’ roster right now is about 24.2 years old, which is subject to change before the start of the 2021-22 season, but they play much older than their average age. This team may be young, but Taylor Jenkins has them playing at an extremely high and efficient level.
Memphis made the playoffs for the first time this past season since 2017 and while they lost in the first-round to the Utah Jazz, the best team in the league record-wise during the regular season, they held their own pretty well against Utah and even won a game in Salt Lake City, the toughest place to play in the NBA!
This Grizzlies team is way ahead of schedule in terms of player development and being able to actually contend in the Western Conference, which is why they could be primed for a breakout 2021-22 season.
