1. Ben Simmons
The Sacramento Kings have been one of the teams mentioned as a potential trade partner during the Ben Simmons saga. The Philadelphia 76ers don’t want to, but they will eventually have to trade Simmons.
If the Kings were willing to include De’Aaron Fox or Tyrese Haliburton, a deal between the two sides would be a lot easier to put together. But, the Kings, to this point, are not willing to make that kind of Godfather offer to the 76ers.
Waiting Philadelphia out makes sense from the Kings’ perspective. Getting him at their price is what they should be trying to do. Simmons has his flaws, but he could be a big help to the Kings.
Simmons is arguably the most versatile defender in the NBA. He can defend every position on the court and should earn at least one Defensive Player of the Year award in his career. He would drastically change the Kings on that end of the court after the disastrous season they just had trying to stop teams from scoring.

Sacramento could try and play Simmons as a frontcourt player more, which should keep things open offensively. The less he is out on the perimeter, the better. If he isn’t going to attack the rim or attempt from jump shots, getting him near the basket for layups and dunks is the way to go.
The Kings have some pieces that they could package together and should be pushing to acquire Simmons as he would instantly raise the ceiling of the team.
