The Sacramento Kings would like to move on from Marvin Bagley III. He has not lived up to expectations since being selected No. 2 overall in the 2018 NBA Draft. A change of scenery would help both sides in this instance.
One team that could have some interest in Bagley is the Houston Rockets. Houston made their intentions for the foreseeable future clear, as they selected four teenagers in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft. They are in for the long game at this point and could look to take a flier on the 22-year old Bagley.
Danuel House Jr. could be in the return package from Houston. He would certainly help fill the void at the small forward spot, giving Sacramento a wing that has some playoff experience as well.
House struggled with injuries during the 2020-21 season but has shown that he can be a solid 3-and-D contributor in the past. The Kings could use more of that after they set the NBA record for the worst defensive rating in the history of the league.

A deal like this strengthens the roster as a whole, as Buddy Hield could shift to a sixth-man role and Harrison Barnes can take over as the starting power forward.
