Memphis Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies made a surprise run to the NBA Playoffs last season, defeating the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors in the NBA Play-In Tournament. As they get ready for the 2021-22 season, there is a lot of work to be done on the roster.

The Memphis Grizzlies currently have 17 players on the roster with guaranteed contracts. That number has to be cut down to 15 by the start of the season, so there could be more trades in the works.

Kyle Anderson and Dillon Brooks have been mentioned as possible trade candidates on the Grizzlies roster. Swapping them for Buddy Hield makes for an almost perfect match salary-wise. Draft compensation would likely have to be attached by Sacramento to get the deal done, but this is a deal that works for both teams.

Sacramento, who had the worst defensive rating in NBA history last season, would be getting multiple two-way players that can help turn things around on that side of the court. The Kings have plenty of options to score the ball but are lacking the players to stop other teams from doing it.

The Memphis Grizzlies, hungry for more offensive punch, would be getting one of the best 3-point shooters in the league. While not the best defensive player, Hield would provide excellent floor spacing alongside Ja Morant to do what he does best and attack the rim.
