#4 Giannis Antetokounmpo – Milwaukee Bucks

Is there anything Giannis Antetokounmpo cannot do? At just 26-years-old, he is currently one of the most decorated players in the entire league and his list of accomplishments/accolades is extremely vast for only playing 8 seasons in the NBA. He has won Most Improved, league-MVP twice, All-Star Game MVP, Finals MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, and has been named to the All-Star game, All-NBA lists, and All-Defensive lists numerous times.

Giannis could very well end up winning the Defensive Player of the Year award, much like he did during the 2019-20 season when he won the league-MVP award as well. For his career, Antetokounmpo has averaged 1.2 steals and 1.3 blocks, but he is getting better and better as an all-around defender for his team.

In the playoffs, he really stepped up as a help-side defender, being able to make insane blocks that nobody else in the league could make. Defending their title is going to be hard for the Bucks, but Giannis is going to do everything he can to keep his team at the top of the rankings in the NBA, which is why he could be primed to have his best defensive season yet.

He finished 5th in the voting last year for the award, but if Antetokounmpo continues to be aggressive chasing down blocks during the 2021-22 season, he could very well work his way back into the Top-3 discussion for this award.

Milwaukee is basically returning the same team they had from last season, giving Giannis Antetokounmpo a chance to once again prove that he is one of the best defenders in the league next to the likes of Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton, two other strong defenders.
