John Wall

The Houston Rockets continue to show that they are an organization that puts their players first. Last season, they had a showing of good faith with DeMarcus Cousins. The veteran center played hard for them, but when they wanted to go in another direction, they did best by him trying to find him a new team.

They are now doing the same with John Wall. Houston let him know that they want to give their younger players the starting jobs. It was something Wall is okay with, and he will be joining the team in training camp.

But, they do not plan on playing him. He will likely get paid to not play this season in an agreement with the team. The two sides will work together to find him a new place to play so that he can continue his NBA career.

Right now, the team has no plans on buying him out, which makes sense. They do not want to attach a first-round pick to him, but that is a stance that will likely have to change if they want to trade Wall.

The Oklahoma City Thunder is as good of a guess as any of where John Wall will land. Sam Presti loves his draft picks and they have avenues to clear space to absorb his massive contract. Derrick Favors and one of their lower-tier young prospects for Wall and a future first-round pick could get the job done.
