This Pistons-Mavericks Trade Sends Jerami Grant To Dallas

Jerami Grant, Dallas Mavericks, NBA Trade Rumors
NBA Analysis Network

The last time the Dallas Mavericks made it out of the first-round of the playoffs, they went on to win the NBA Finals. This was in 2011 and since then, the Mavericks really have not been a terrific team in the league. Since winning their only title in 2011, Dallas has gone a very underwhelming 393-394, so at least they are consistent!

With Luka Doncic now being the face of their franchise and one of the young faces of the entire NBA, the Mavericks are in good hands, but they still need to make some moves in order to become a championship contender yet again.

Kristaps Porzingis has not been the most reliable No. 2 option on this team and Tim Hardaway Jr. is nothing more than a solid secondary option on the perimeter, so who can the Dallas Mavericks possibly add?

They do have a $10.8M TPE from trading Josh Richardson to the Boston Celtics this offseason that can be utilized to add another key talent but if the Mavs are to be real threats in the Western Conference, they are going to have to add another high-level, borderline All-Star player to their roster.

After having a breakout season in Detroit, Jerami Grant’s value is at an all-time high right now. Grant averaged 22.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and shot 35% from three-point range las season, making him a borderline All-Star-caliber player for the Pistons.

Seeing as they are rebuilding with Grant as their leader, it is hard to believe that the Detroit Pistons would look to trade Jerami Grant right now, but there have been a handful of contending teams that have inquired about him this offseason.

If they can get a grand return for him in a trade, the Pistons may be interested in possibly dealing their breakout forward, but does Dallas have the assets that Detroit would want?
