The NBA world is patiently waiting for the Philadelphia 76ers to find a trade partner for Ben Simmons. He has officially requested a trade from the team, so it is a matter of when, not if, he will be traded away.

Simmons’ tenure with the 76ers is coming to an ugly end, as he is no longer communicating with the organization. All discussions are currently going through his agent, Rich Paul. As if his trade value wasn’t already low, this certainly won’t help matters.

Simmons’ refusal to shoot the ball, especially in the fourth quarter, was part of the team’s demise against the Atlanta Hawks in the postseason. Philadelphia was defeated in their second-round matchup, losing Game 7 on their homecourt. A lasting image for people will be Simmons passing up a dunk over Trae Young to make a pass to Matisse Thybulle, who promptly split his free throw attempts.

The 76ers can try and salvage the relationship, but there has been too much damage done at this point. Parting ways is what would be best for both sides.

LATEST NBA NEWS: Latest Intel Surrounding Ben Simmons Amid NBA Trade Rumors

Finding a trade partner for Simmons is not an easy task. Philadelphia has a very high asking price that no team has been willing to meet yet, and rightfully so. No general manager would accept Daryl Morey’s packages reportedly sent to the Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs, and Toronto Raptors.

Teams will undoubtedly be interested in the 25-year old Simmons, but the package has to be realistic. If Philadelphia lowers their asking price, a team like the Dallas Mavericks could get involved.

What might a deal between Dallas and Philadelphia look like? Let’s take a look at this trade that features Simmons landing in Dallas.
