The Chicago Bulls were one of the more aggressive teams in the NBA during the offseason. They completed multiple trades to revamp their roster heading into the 2021-22 season as they look to snap their playoff drought at four years.

Chicago made three separate trades during free agency to bring a lot of new talent to the roster. Lonzo Ball was the first acquisition to help shore up the point guard position. He was acquired in a sign-and-trade with the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Bulls signed Ball to a four-year, $85 million deal and traded Tomas Satoransky, Garrett Temple, a 2024 second-round pick, and cash to New Orleans to complete the deal.

After that, Alex Caruso was signed away from the Los Angeles Lakers, agreeing to a four-year, $37 million deal. That wasn’t a sign-and-trade, but DeMar DeRozan joined the team in that fashion.

DeRozan signed a three-year, $85 million deal and was dealt with Chicago from the San Antonio Spurs. This one cost a lot, as the Bulls traded Thaddeus Young, Al-Farouq Aminu, a future first-round pick, and two future second-round picks for DeRozan.

The team then acquired Derrick Jones Jr. and a highly protected first-round pick in a three-team deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Portland Trail Blazers, which led to a Lauri Markkanen sign-and-trade from the Chicago Bulls to Cavaliers.
