Portland Trail Blazers Target: Bradley Beal

The Portland Trail Blazers’ time to make Damian Lillard happy is running out and given their current roster situation, it may be hard for them to acquire this player, but he may be their last hope in terms of keeping Lillard in Portland long-term.

Both Bradley Beal and Damian Lillard have been known to be very loyal to their respective cities, but they are both in very similar situations.

The Washington Wizards and Portland Trail Blazers are not title-contending teams and as a result, both of their team’s superstars are a little bit on edge. Bradley Beal and Damian Lillard have developed a friendship over the years and pairing these two up with one another could create a very powerful scoring duo in the league.

Combining their stats from last season, these two averaged 60.1 points, 8.9 rebounds, 11.9 assists and made a combined 20.2 field goals per game on 46.8% shooting.

If the Portland Trail Blazers were somehow able to trade for Bradley Beal, trading away CJ McCollum and possibly Norman Powell in the process, they would definitely have two superstars that would contend for a top seed in the Western Conference.

Obviously, they would need to have other key talents around them, but if Portland was to trade both McCollum and Powell, they would hypothetically be able to keep Robert Covington, Jusef Nurkic, and Larry Nance Jr. on their roster.

Seeing as Bradley Beal is up for a supermax contract extension next offseason, he likely will not want to be traded before then, but both Damian Lillard and Beal are friends, hence why the Portland Trail Blazers could possibly look to trade for the Wizards’ superstar shooting guard at some point.
