How This Trade Impacts New York Knicks
At this point, it is a minor surprise that Kevin Knox II is even still on the New York Knicks roster. He had had his name mentioned in trade rumors for a while now, going back to Anthony Davis being put on the trade block by the New Orleans Pelicans before he landed with the Los Angeles Lakers.
At 22-years old, Knox could still figure it out. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like that will occur with the Knicks, so they flip him to the Indiana Pacers for a veteran that can help them win some games if he were to be called upon in Justin Holiday.
Holiday spent one season with the Knicks, so he knows what it takes to play under the bright lights of Madison Square Garden. He is a steady veteran that would provide New York with some more experienced depth on their roster.
Justin Holiday is a good defender and solid 3-point shooter, knocking down 36.4 percent of his 3-point attempts in his career. He may not be in the rotation every night, but Tom Thibodeau knows he could turn to him in a pinch, something he was hesitant to do with Knox.

New York has a ton of depth in their backcourt, and on the wing, they don’t have confidence in Knox getting the job done. Bringing in a player that can is a smart decision. But, for the price of Knox and a 2022 second-rounder via the Hornets, adding a player you know can get the job done when called upon is worth it.
