They may not have signed any free agents this offseason, but the Memphis Grizzlies have been one of the busiest teams in the NBA this summer.

Memphis has been involved in seven different trades this offseason and while they did move Jonas Valanciunas first on draft night, the Grizzlies turned him into Steven Adams, Jarrett Culver, Kris Dunn, Carsen Edwards, rookie Ziaire Williams, and plenty of future draft assets.

Coming off a season in which they claimed the 8-seed in the Western Conference via the play-in tournament, the Memphis Grizzlies seem to be way ahead of schedule in their rebuilding process, hence why GM Zach Kleiman has been moving pieces around left and right in the offseason.

Right now, they look like the same team from a season ago, except they have more overall depth, young talents, and future assets to utilize/build with. Ja Morant is the young leader of this team and with key secondary options next to him in Jaren Jackson Jr. and Dillon Brooks, the Grizzlies will once again be a tough team to play against, but they are still a year or two away from being real threats.

Opening cap space and having three first-round picks in the 2022 NBA Draft makes the Grizzlies a dangerous team next offseason, but they may not be done making moves for the 2021-22 season.

It seems unlikely that they will look to leverage Dillon Brooks, but Kyle Anderson could very much be traded since he is in the final year of his contract and only owed $9.9M for the 2021-22 season.

The veteran combo-forward is coming off his best season in the league, as he averaged 12.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.2 steals, and shot 36% from three-point range during the regular season, making him the ultimate “glue guy” for many playoff-contending teams around the league.

You may not think of them as being a playoff threat in the Eastern Conference, but the Indiana Pacers may be one of these teams interested in Anderson.

The Pacers have been plagued by injuries the last few years and could definitely benefit from adding another versatile talent on the wing, hence why they could be willing to give the Grizzlies more future assets for him.

Let’s take a look at what Indiana would be willing to give up to acquire Kyle Anderson either before the start of or during the 2021-22 season.
