Finding a trade partner for Kristaps Porzingis is proving to be difficult for the Dallas Mavericks, but it only takes one team to emerge. In this hypothetical deal, the team that emerges is the Boston Celtics.

Boston, who could use a bit of a shake-up themselves, takes a shot on the immensely talented Porzingis being able to turn things around. They saw up close and personal what he could accomplish when he was a member of their Atlantic Division rivals, the New York Knicks.

In this deal, Boston lands Porzingis and point guard Trey Burke. They both fill a need in the rotation, as the power forward spot needs help and their point guard depth is a little shaky.

Heading back to Dallas is a solid package. Al Horford isn’t the player that he once was, but can still provide some productive minutes. Dennis Schroder’s inclusion in this deal means that it cannot be completed until November 11th, three months after he was signed by the Celtics.

Aaron Nesmith was a first-round pick by the Celtics in 2020 and was regarded as one of the better shooters in his draft class. His inclusion, along with the 2022 and 2024 first-round picks, gives Dallas essentially three first-rounders acquired in this deal.

How does this impact both teams involved? Let’s take a look, starting with the Celtics.
