Atlanta Hawks Receive: F/C Jalen Smith, PHX 2022 2nd Round Pick
Phoenix Suns Receive: F Cam Reddish
The Phoenix Suns are rumored to be interested in Thaddeus Young right now, but if they are unable to land the veteran forward, they could turn their attention to adding another versatile wing. The Suns are coming off a run to the NBA Finals last season, as they lost to the Bucks in The Finals 4-2, but they really are not far off from being a championship team.
Adding Landry Shamet and JaVale McGee were two very underrated moves of the offseason for the Phoenix Suns, and both guys will definitely contribute off the bench. However, this Suns team still needs another reliable talent behind Mikal Bridges.
Cam Johnson is a solid wing for the Suns. Due to his versatility, Jae Crowder also spends some time on the wing, but bringing in a guy like Cam Reddish to play 15-20 minutes per game as a lengthy two-way player is definitely advantageous the defending Western Conference champions.
As for the Atlanta Hawks, they would be getting Jalen Smith from the Suns and an immediate second-round pick in 2022, giving them a total of three draft picks (2 first-rounds and 1 second-round) in 2022. Smith was drafted 10th overall last year, and due to Dario Saric being out, it appeared that he could be in store for more minutes to begin the 2021-22 season, but Jalen Smith’s name has been dangled around in trade talks recently.

The Phoenix Suns seem open to moving the young big man for value, which is why they could look to do so for Cam Reddish, that is if the Atlanta Hawks are interested in still moving Reddish.
With Onyeka Okongwu out to begin the year due to offseason shoulder surgery, Atlanta may look to add another frontcourt option at some point, especially since Gorgui Dieng is a veteran center who will not play every night.
