Atlanta Hawks Receive: G/F Aaron Nesmith, F Grant Williams
Boston Celtics Receive: F Cam Reddish, ATL 2024 1st Round Pick (Top-10 Protected)
Another Eastern Conference team who could have an interest in Cam Reddish is the Boston Celtics. One of the more busy teams this offseason has been the Celtics.
With Brad Stevens being “promoted” from head coach to team president of basketball operations, this organization has been looking to get the best talents they can around both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.
The Celtics have not been a terrible team over the years, but their bench has really struggled to take pressure off of their starters. The Celtics’ bench ranked 28th in scoring last season. While they added guys like Dennis Schroder, Al Horford, and Juancho Hernangomez to try and help with their bench scoring this offseason, they could still use a reliable scorer on the wing-like Cam Reddish.
Aaron Nesmith has a chance to be this kind of player for the Celtics, but they would be trading him and Grant Williams in this trade for Reddish.

Nesmith was drafted 14th overall by the Celtics phoenixlast year, and while he did not play much during his rookie season, he has a lot of potential to be an effective three-point shooter. He shot 37% from deep on over 100 attempts last season, and in Summer League, Nesmith shot an impressive 36.1% from three-point range on about 7.1 attempts from deep per game.
Moving a wing-like Reddish for another wing like Nesmith definitely seems like a lateral move for the Hawks. Still, at the same time, they would also be adding another bench talent in Grant Williams, who has been a solid two-way rotational player for the Celtics over the years.

This is not a great trade for either side, as the talent being swapped is very similar to one another in terms of production and potential. Still, a change in scenery could be best for both sides’ assets, especially in regards to Nesmith and Williams, given their lack of production and inconsistency on offense last year off the bench.
