Philadelphia 76ers Receive: F Cam Reddish, ATL 2023 2nd Round Pick

The Atlanta Hawks really did a number on the Philadelphia 76ers. Because of the Sixers’ loss to the Hawks in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, their team may be unraveling like a cheap sweater!

Not only is Ben Simmons likely going to be on the move because of his poor playoff performances, but Tyrese Maxey could be another guy on the move since his agent, Rich Paul, is also Simmons’ agent.

Paul may not want either of his clients in Philadelphia playing for the 76ers anymore, hence why Maxey could be available in trade talks. Tyrese Maxey was drafted 21st overall last year, and while he did not play much, he looked very solid in his limited minutes on the court. In his rookie season, the former Kentucky guard averaged 8.0 points, 2.0 assists, and shot 46.2% from the floor.

Maxey even made himself known to the Atlanta Hawks in Game 6 of this past year’s playoff series, as he went for 16 points on 5-12 shooting and added 7 rebounds to his name fo the 76ers in this game.

In this year’s Las Vegas Summer League, Tyrese Maxey played in just two games for the Philadelphia 76ers but was spectacular in said games, averaging 26.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and shooting 50% from the floor.

The Hawks did add Delon Wright to their backcourt, and they did bring back Lou Williams as well, but they could definitely benefit from having another young guard who can make things happen with or without the ball in his hands. Plus, Maxey has the potential to be a strong, slashing off-the-ball guard that can really push the pace of play in transition.

He has the ability to play the point guard or shooting guard positions, which is why Tyrese Maxey would be a strong trade target for the Hawks if they looked to move Cam Reddish. However, it does not seem like the 76ers have any intentions of trading the young guard at this time.
