Does this trade make sense for Philadelphia 76ers?
At this point, if the Philadelphia 76ers can get another All-Star for Ben Simmons, they should be willing to make the trade only because no other teams in the league have been willing to put their All-Star on the trade block.
The Philadelphia 76ers have wanted Bradley Beal and/or Damian Lillard to become available. Still, neither player will be on the move before the start of the season, which is why Brandon Ingram probably is the best asset the 76ers can get back for Simmons in a trade.
Not to mention, they would also get Jaden McDaniels, who is a lengthy and athletic forward with a lot of potential to grow. McDaniels was drafted 28th overall last year, and in Summer League this year, he showed glimpses of what the future could hold for him, as he averaged 16.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 1.0 blocks, and shot 49% from the floor in four total games.
Now, this is just Summer League, but standing just under 6’10”, Jaden McDaniels has a lot of potential to continue growing into a two-way difference-maker at the power forward position. He is a terrific young talent for the 76ers to add in a trade involving Ben Simmons, meaning this trade makes even more sense for them than just adding Ingram.
