Terrence Ross – Orlando Magic

A much more affordable option than Eric Gordon, Terrence Ross is not necessarily a great fit for the New York Knicks defensively, but he gives them more offense off the bench.

Last season, New York ranked 12th in the league in bench points during the regular season. Still, the offense was a major problem since they received limited reliable scoring production outside of Julius Randle, R.J. Barrett, and Derrick Rose.

Terrence Ross not only averaged 15.6 points per game last season while coming off the bench in 44 of the 46 games he played in with the Magic but near the halfway point in the season, he was being mentioned as a player to watch in terms of the Sixth-Man of the Year award.

The veteran wing was one of the best bench scorers in the league last year, when healthy, and Terrence Ross could definitely assume this “sixth-man” type of role again with the Knicks next to Derrick Rose and Alec Burks.

All three of these guys are veteran players and very reliable scorers for New York to potentially have coming off the bench behind Kemba Walker, R.J. Barrett, and Evan Fournier. The addition of Terrence Ross definitely makes the New York Knicks a playoff team once again. Still, it gives them that extra bit of firepower they could utilize to turn themselves into a real contending team in the Eastern Conference.

We saw a season ago what this team can do defensively. With basically everyone returning, plus some upgraded talent on offense with Kemba Walker and Evan Fournier, New York seems like they are one piece away from really being legit title contenders.

Terrence Ross may not be that piece, but he is only owed $12.5M this season and $11.5M next season. He is definitely an affordable and key talent for a more experienced team like New York to add more depth.
