Eric Gordon – Houston Rockets
Being a part of several championship-contending rosters in Houston has definitely helped shape Eric Gordon into the ideal fit for many new title-contending teams in this league. Still, his salary is something that has pushed some teams away.
Eric Gordon is set to make $58.7M over the next three seasons, but the good news is that the final year of his contract is non-guaranteed.
Bringing in Eric Gordon’s $18.2M salary for this year would be a little tough for the New York Knicks, as they would likely have to part ways with some young talents like Kevin Knox and possibly even Obi Toppin, but the now 32-year-old wing could definitely be a two-way threat off-the-bench that the Knicks need.
He only played in 27 games last season due to a groin injury, but Eric Gordon averaged 17.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and was shooting 43.3% from the floor before getting injured.

For his career, Eric Gordon has shot 36.8% from three-point range and has always been an underrated defender, making him a key player to come off-the-bench behind the likes of R.J. Barrett and Evan Fournier in the Knicks’ rotations.
If the Knicks can make this trade with Houston work financially, they should definitely pursue the veteran shooting guard because of his experiences. New York is not going to be looking to trade for young players, as they are a playoff threat in the Eastern Conference that will be “buying” talent.

They will continue to develop the young talents on their roster and in their system, but if the New York Knicks look to make a trade, it will be for an experienced player that can help them in the playoffs. Eric Gordon is this kind of player, and he is the best option talent-wise for New York to pursue via trade.
