Kevin Love – Cleveland Cavaliers

And finally, all avenues for needing to hit the reset button lead to Kevin Love on the Cleveland Cavaliers. Love is set to make $60.2M over the course of the next two seasons, and his contract is fully guaranteed, meaning that the Cavs will have to either trade him or keep him through the 2022-23 season.

Now, you could easily say that Cleveland will look to buy him out of his contract, which would work for both sides, but Kevin Love and his agent do not want to negotiate one, and who can blame them?

If you were set to make $60M, you would not want to give any of that up either, so it appears that the former 5x All-Star is more than comfortable riding the bench while getting paid.

Cleveland is in a tough spot right now financially, and this is because of Kevin Love’s contract, so they may very much look to trade him by the trade deadline and include some draft picks in a package to move him if they cannot buy him out of his contract.

Now 33-years-old, Kevin Love is not nearly the player he once was with the Timberwolves early on in his career, but he is still a veteran who could contribute to a title-contending team. He only averaged 12.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, and shot 36.5% from three-point range last season, but Love was dealing with some injuries last year and had his minutes cut in half.

On a new team, the veteran big man could once again prove his worth to the league and become a key talent on his new team. However, it seems like Kevin Love will begin the season on the Cavaliers roster, as no team in the league will be willing to take on his $30M contract both this year and next year.
