How Indiana Pacers Are Impacted
Entering the 2021-22 season, the Indiana Pacers a few questions. For starters, TJ Warren remaining sidelined due to stress fractures in his foot is concerning. He missed most of last season due to the same injury and did not fully heal after a full offseason.
When considering the injury history that Warren has, it could be a tough choice for the Pacers to pay him big money after the upcoming season when he reaches free agency.
If the Pacers want to avoid having to make such a commitment then making a move now, if possible, could be a logical choice. Being able to receive a player like Duncan Robinson would not be the missing piece to a championship puzzle by any means. Still, regardless, he’d bring a needed perimeter shooting punch.
The Pacers benefited from the two-man game that two-time All-Star Domantas Sabonis shared with Doug McDermott over the last few seasons. He departed in free agency to join the San Antonio Spurs. Robinson would go beyond just filling that void in the dribble-handoff department.

Robinson has thrived playing alongside Bam Adebayo with the Miami Heat due to similar reasons McDermott thrived with the Pacers. However, Robinson is a more dynamic perimeter shooting threat, in general, specifically in dribble-handoffs.
If the Pacers want to commit to continuing to build around Sabonis, it would not hurt to lean on talents like Duncan Robinson who would bring the best out of his skill-set.

There’s a lot to like about TJ Warren and what he brings to a team. The major concern has just always been about him being able to stay healthy. After his first season in Indiana, he just hasn’t been able to do that.
