Indiana Pacers Receive: G/F Duncan Robinson
Miami Heat Receive: F T.J. Warren, C Goga Bitadze
The Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers have been linked previously this offseason as potential trade partners. Miami was one of the places many thought Myles Turner could end up in a trade.
Kendrick Nunn, who left Miami in free agency, was predicted by some to land in Indiana as a restricted free agent before the Heat renounced his rights and rescinded the qualifying offer.
So, they now come together on a team that involves the recently signed Duncan Robinson. Robinson heads to Indiana in this scenario, where he would be a strong fit.
Coming to Miami is T.J. Warren and 2019 first-round pick, Goga Bitadze. For Indiana, the financial commitment is a steep one for Robinson, but they could make it work as they have only two guaranteed contracts, T.J. McConnell and Domantas Sabonis, on their books in 2023.

Robinson can also help overcome the loss of Doug McDermott, who left in free agency and signed with the San Antonio Spurs. McDermott was an excellent shooter, but Robinson would be an upgrade, as he has the third-most 3-pointers in the NBA the last two seasons, connecting at a 42.7 percent clip.
Robinson is a bit one-dimensional currently, which makes him a risk. But, when you are as elite at that one dimension as Robinson is at shooting 3-pointers, it is something a team is willing to take a chance on.

The package of Warren and Bitadze should not deter Indiana from making this deal. Warren is an impending free agent and Indiana has another big man, Isaiah Jackson, who was selected No. 22 in this year’s draft to soak up reserve center minutes.
How does this deal impact the Heat? Let’s take a look from their perspective.
